El Fuerte de San Diego - Located on Hornitas Street in the Colonia Centro neighborhood, this is an old fort that has been converted into the Acapulco History Museum. There, you can learn about the fort's history and visit different rooms entitled: The Manila Galleon, Pirates in the Pacific and Trade from the Orient. A spectacular light and sound show is offered, which narrates the history of the port during colonial times. Acapulco Bay has a score of delightful beaches. Some have gentle, friendly waves, like Caleta and Caletilla, others have moderate waves like La Condesa while still others have rough waves in the open sea like El Revolcadero, but all of them are extremely beautiful. Palma Sola - The area is blanketed in 2,000-year-old petroglyphs, executed by the Yopes , Acapulco's earliest known inhabitants in the early Preclassic period. Stone steps with intermittent plazas for viewing the ancient art are set along a path through virgin vegetation. Situated in the area known as the antitheater of of the Bay of Acapulco, this area offers the visitor an interesting gathering of huge rocks carved with many different images, among which are human figures in diverse poses.
